Job summary

Minnehaha County is seeking a Commission Administrative Officer to advise and support the Board of County Commissioners in the leadership and administration of county government. The role requires strategic vision to navigate a complex landscape and ensure policies and programs are implemented effectively.

The successful candidate will coordinate planning, budgets, labor relations, and contracts, working with department heads and stakeholders to advance the county's agenda.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public administration, business, or closely related field.
• MBA or JD preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of public administration, laws, and budget processes.

Responsibilities

• Advise and support a five-member Board of County Commissioners in County government leadership.
• Coordinate short and long-range planning for overall County operations.
• Collaborate with department heads, agencies, boards, and the public to implement policies.
• Prepare legislation, testify, and analyze fiscal impacts of enacted laws.
• Represent the Commissioners in labor relations and review of contracts.
