Job summary

Bexar County PA in Texas is seeking a County Manager, a contracted executive responsible to the Commissioners Court. The role serves as the court’s chief administrative officer, implementing policy, coordinating departments, and ensuring lawful, efficient operations.

The County Manager oversees budgeting, staffing, and regulatory compliance, provides timely information for decisions, and acts as liaison among officials, staff, residents, and partners to advance community goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or terminal degree in related field.
• 10 years of progressively responsible administrative experience including senior management.
• Texas county management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees county departments, programs, and personnel assigned to the County Manager’s supervision by Commissioners Court, ensuring compliance with applicable Court policies and directives.
• Executes the policies of the Commissioners Court, translating strategic goals into operational plans.
• Supports the Commissioners Court by providing timely, accurate, and sufficient information for informed decisions.
• Coordinates Commissioners Court meetings and the preparation of agendas and public notices with the County Judge, Court members, County Clerk, and legal counsel; attends meetings and coordinates timely posting under the Texas Open Meetings Act.
