Job summary

Berkeley County Government seeks a seasoned Finance Officer to oversee all finance and accounting functions. You will plan, implement, and manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, coordinating with county leadership to align with strategic goals.

The role requires extensive experience in accounting/finance, strong leadership, and the ability to guide long-term financial planning and CAFR production. Emergency and flexibility are expected in this public sector position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field.
• Ten (10) years of related accounting/finance experience required.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement sound financial policies in collaboration with department heads and officials.
• Lead finance and accounting teams, overseeing Real Property, Delinquent Tax, Procurement and Grants.
• Provide strategic recommendations to the executive management team.
