Job summary

Ventura County is seeking a Deputy Executive Officer for Budget and Finance to lead the B&F section under the Chief Financial Officer, overseeing major capital projects and inter-departmental workflows.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive budget/finance leadership, strong communication skills, and experience supervising staff involved in fiscal programs. The role includes comprehensive benefits and a focus on fiscal stability and strategic planning.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required with 5+ years in budget/financial or capital/land-use work.
Experience supervising staff is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead cross-departmental working groups to execute priorities and strategic initiatives.
Oversee lifecycle management of capital projects and programs including infrastructure.
Guide capital outlay planning, land use planning, and regional sustainability efforts.
Coordinate standardized administrative processes across county agencies.
Direct executive projects and policy assignments for the CEO as needed.
Oversee real estate acquisition, property management, and facility allocation.
