The County of Santa Clara is seeking an experienced financial analyst to support the Office of Budget and Analysis. You will participate in budgeting, forecasting, and policy evaluation, collaborating with departments and county leadership to align resources with strategic priorities.

Responsibilities include preparing analyses, presenting to executives, and facilitating long‑range financial planning in a dynamic public sector environment.

Qualifications

• Education and experience aligned to government budgeting and financial analysis.
• Experience interpreting rules, gathering data, and preparing recommendations.
• Public sector budgeting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in development of annual County budget with revenue and funding recommendations.
• Defines reporting needs and provides information for budget analyses and special reports.
• Conducts financial, budgetary, statistical, and economic analyses with recommendations.
• Prepares variance analyses, fund balance analyses, and multi-year budget trends.
• Assists in cost allocations and indirect cost rate proposals.
• Represents the County Executive in meetings on financial concerns and policy goals.
• Monitors expenditures and revenues; suggests mid-year adjustments.
• Leads or supports staff and coordinates with departments and consultants.
