Job summary

Meitheal Pharmaceuticals, based in Chicago, seeks a Senior Counsel, Specialty Commercial & Market Access to serve as a key legal advisor across market access, pricing, reimbursement, and commercialization. You will lead MLR review for specialty and biosimilar products, manage complex deals, and partner with cross-functional teams to enable growth while mitigating legal risk.

This role requires a JD, bar admission, 8+ years in pharmaceutical law, and in-house experience, with a hybrid work model

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience supporting pharmaceutical market access, pricing, reimbursement and commercial contracting.
• Strong working knowledge of healthcare fraud-and-abuse laws, government pricing requirements and legal issues affecting pharmaceutical commercialization.
• Experience advising on FDA prescription drug advertising and promotion requirements and participating in promotional or MLR review.
• Proven ability to independently draft and negotiate complex pharmaceutical commercial agreements.
• Excellent judgment, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to provide practical recommendations to senior business stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support across Market Access, pricing, reimbursement and commercial contracting.
• Lead MLR reviews for specialty, branded and biosimilar products.
• Advise on promotional claims and communications for FDA/FTC compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage risk and support launches.
• Develop and improve contract templates and policies for assigned functions.
• Manage outside counsel and coordinate with Legal team on transactions.

Education

Juris Doctor degree from ABA-accredited law school

Active bar admission in at least one US state

Eligibility to practice as in-house counsel in Illinois
