Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking an Operations Finance Analyst to support product costing and analysis across operations, sales and development teams. This role focuses on ensuring accurate cost data through all manufacturing phases and collaborating with auditors.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with 2+ years in manufacturing, SAP knowledge, and strong analytical abilities. This position offers relocation options and travel up to 25–35% to plant locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field with 2+ years of experience.
• Manufacturing or consumer packaged goods experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent analytical and variance analysis skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with internal departments.
• Experience with data management and system integration.
• Able to communicate clearly and manage projects on time.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, distribute, and analyze operational results in various formats and timeframes.
• Gather USDA quotes, compute base costs, and load into systems; support auditors.
• Cost accounting for hog procurement; reconcile monthly hog purchases and postings.
• Provide information to supply teams to optimize product costing.
• Provide SAP product costing training and support to plant teams.
• Guide plant accounting in timely, accurate cost data requests.
• Perform first-level cost reviews and prepare executive summaries for Sr. Management.
• Learn SAP BOM and product costing, labor audits, ABC costing, and variance allocations.
• Support ad hoc analyses and participate in special projects as needed.
