Job summary

Vector Recruiting LLC seeks a Senior Cost Accountant to lead labor-based absorption rates and support pricing, billing, and margin analysis. The role also supports financial reporting, GL activities, and month-end close to ensure accurate records.

The position requires 3–5 years of cost accounting experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting, and proficiency with ERP systems (Dynamics is a plus). Excellent analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• ERP systems experience with data entry; Dynamics experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience in project, job, or service-based cost accounting; industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update absorption rates for labor burden and materials to ensure accurate pricing and billing.
• Perform project accounting including cost tracking, unbilled revenue accruals, and profitability reporting.
• Analyze pay rate vs. bill rate spreads and gross margin by customer/project; develop reports and KPIs.
• Reconcile timekeeping, payroll, and billing data to ensure labor costs are captured correctly.
• Collaborate with operations to review cost centers, allocations, and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and GAAP maintenance; prepare for external auditors.
