The Recruiting Hive is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Cost Accountant to lead project accounting, develop and maintain labor-based absorption rates, and support pricing, billing, and margin analysis.

The role also covers month-end close, general ledger activities, and financial reporting across multiple entities. Candidates should have GAAP knowledge, ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics a plus), and 3-5 years in cost or project accounting.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with an integrated ERP and data entry systems; Dynamics a plus.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience in project, job or service-based cost accounting; relevant industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.

Responsabilités

• Develop, maintain, and update absorption rates for labor burden and materials to ensure full cost recovery.
• Perform project accounting, cost tracking, unbilled revenue accruals, and profitability reporting.
• Analyze pay rate vs. bill rate spreads and gross margin by customer/project; inform pricing decisions.
• Reconcile timekeeping, payroll, and billing data to ensure accurate labor costs on projects.
• Support monthly close, including journal entries and GL reconciliations.
• Prepare documentation for external auditors and coordinate with banks/insurance as needed.
• Assist Controller with financial analysis and process improvements.
