Job summary

KingRecruitingServices seeks a Senior Cost Accountant to lead labor absorption rate development and project costing, supporting pricing, billing, and margin analysis. The role also covers general ledger activity, month-end close, and financial reporting across multiple entities.

The ideal candidate has ERP experience (Dynamics preferred), solid GAAP knowledge, and 3–5 years of cost/accounting experience in service-based industries. A Bachelor's in Accounting is required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with an integrated ERP and data entry systems.
• Experience with general ledger accounting and financial reporting is required.
• Experience in project, job, or service-based cost accounting preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update absorption rates for labor burden and consumables.
• Perform project accounting including cost tracking and profitability reporting.
• Analyze pay rate vs. bill rate spreads and gross margin by customer/project.
• Reconcile timekeeping, payroll, and billing data for accurate labor costs.
• Review cost centers and expense coding with operations teams and provide recommendations.
• Support monthly close including journal entries and GL maintenance.
• Prepare documentation for external auditors and interact with banks/insurers as needed.
• Assist with financial analysis and process improvements.
