Job summary

ExcelliSearch, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to lead project accounting and develop labor-based absorption rates to support pricing, billing, and margin analysis. The role also covers financial reporting, general ledger activities, and month-end closing processes.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting, and knowledge of GAAP and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred). This position is on-site in the United States.

Qualifications

• Proficient level of numerical and analytical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update absorption rates for labor burden to ensure full cost recovery and accurate pricing.
• Perform project accounting including cost tracking, unbilled revenue accruals, and profitability reporting.
• Analyze pay rate vs. bill rate spreads and gross margin; recommend pricing adjustments and develop reports communicating financial results.
• Reconcile timekeeping, payroll, and billing to ensure labor costs are captured and charged to the right projects.
• Collaborate with divisional operations teams to review cost centers and allocations, resolve discrepancies, and advise the Controller.
• Support monthly close: journal entries, GAAP reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare audit documentation and interact with banks and insurers as needed.
• Assist with financial analysis, system changes, process improvements, and strategic initiatives.
