Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Chicago seeks an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our on-site team and serve as a key daily client interface, ensuring objectives are achieved through value-added cost management services.

The role covers estimating, cost planning, reviewing designs, negotiating with contractors, and delivering cost reports. Ideal candidate has 5-7 years in cost management, preferably with RICS accreditation, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in a cost management role in the construction industry.
• RICS accreditation desired or in progress.
• Experience leading cost management on medium to large construction projects of medium-high complexity.
• Construction consultancy experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of procurement routes, value management and value engineering.

Responsibilities

• Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Provide estimate and cost planning including producing and presenting the final cost plan.
• Review and participate with design services team and general contractor in cost estimates.
• Reconcile changes and assist contractor to ensure data accuracy.
• Prepare cost estimate updates and communicate with contractor and owner.
