Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a cost accounting professional to support manufacturing operations across multiple sites, including Shelton, CT. You will manage monthly closings, cost control processes, inventory accuracy, and variance analysis while interfacing with BU cost managers.

The ideal candidate has 4–6 years of manufacturing accounting experience, a Bachelor’s in Accounting (CPA/CMA preferred), and the ability to travel up to 30%. SAP and ERP experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 4–6 years of manufacturing accounting experience.
• Willingness to travel 25–30%.
• SAP preferred; OneStream/Blackline experience a plus; ERP exposure (JDE/SAP).
• Deep understanding of cost accounting, product costing, and manufacturing variances.
• Independent, self‑starter with strong analytical skills and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain robust controls and identify risks in a timely manner.
• Perform monthly variance analyses: PPV, freight, tariff, material usage, labor, overhead.
• Monitor earned hours, scrap and COGS; track work orders and inventories.
• Prepare monthly closing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Allocate costs across cost centers and GL accounts; produce variance analyses.
• Develop and refine reporting tools to improve data visibility and decision making.
• Assist with annual physical inventories and special projects.
