Job summary

Devoted Health is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to architect and scale the cost accounting framework, linking membership growth and vendor spend to the P&L. You will own intercompany cost allocation and reporting, delivering profitability analyses to guide strategic decisions.

You will build driver-based models, lead monthly close for cost, and partner with cross-functional teams to standardize policies and implement scalable tooling.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5-10 years of finance and/or accounting experience.
• Hands-on cost accounting experience including allocation methodology and cost center design.
• Core FP&A or accounting experience: budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, management reporting.
• Advanced financial modeling skills, including working with large data sets, AI, and BI platforms.
• Deep understanding of ERP or planning systems, or building a cost allocation model from scratch.
• Ability to explain financial results clearly to non-finance stakeholders and defend numbers.
• Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities and processes.

Responsibilities

• Direct cost accounting policies, controls, and reporting to drive financial and growth objectives.
• Architect and scale the cost accounting framework across business segments and entities.
• Deliver market and product-level profitability analysis to guide margins.
• Support intercompany cost allocation, transfer pricing inputs, and related reporting.
• Build driver-based financial models linking membership, staffing, and vendor spend to P&L and cash.
• Support monthly close activities related to cost, including accruals and variance analysis.
• Create business cases and ROI analyses, evaluate vendor options, and headcount investments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize policy, process, and control with scalable tooling.
• Educate market, network, and clinical teams with tools and reporting to manage cost performance.
• Own audit, regulatory, and compliance inquiries.
