Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Corporate Counsel to advise the Marketing and Communications teams on regulatory compliance, contracts, and risk management in a fast-paced cloud environment. You will negotiate strategic commercial agreements and collaborate with cross-functional legal and business partners.

Based in Seattle, you will help drive process improvements, support executives, and shape innovative, compliant strategies while upholding rigorous legal standards and ethics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience.
• Juris Doctor and state bar membership required.
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in transactional and technology licensing.
• Experience with cloud computing and cloud technologies.
• In-house experience at a technology or internet company is preferred.
• Experience advising senior executives.
• Experience advising on privacy laws.
• Experience using AI for legal research, contract analysis, document review.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal counsel to AWS Marketing and Communications teams on regulatory compliance, contractual obligations, and risk mitigation.
• Negotiate and draft commercial agreements that protect AWS's interests while fostering strong business relationships.
• Analyze novel legal issues and develop thoughtful solutions in ambiguous situations.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the legal department and other business teams to ensure coordinated and comprehensive legal support.
• Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the legal function.
