Job summary

Smartsearchonline in Covina, CA is seeking a hands-on Corporate Controller to own accounting and financial reporting across the organization, including multi-entity consolidation and close processes. You'll lead a growing finance team, drive ASC 606/805 revenue and project accounting, and partner with leadership, PE sponsors, and lenders to deliver accurate, decision-ready statements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 8-12+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Significant multi-entity consolidation experience.
• Strong intercompany accounting and elimination experience.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, and ASC 805.
• Experience managing external audits and developing internal controls.
• CPA license and private equity-backed experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for all business units and the holding company, targeting completion within 7-10 business days.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements, including intercompany eliminations, management fee allocations, and shared-service cost allocations.
• Oversee revenue recognition under ASC 606, including over-time recognition for projects and deferred revenue for maintenance/service agreements, and manage WIP schedules.
• Lead accounting diligence and integration for acquisitions; apply purchase accounting under ASC 805 and migrate to GAAP.
• Develop and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and scalable processes across decentralized operations.
