Job summary

Bancroft is seeking a Corporate Controller to join its executive leadership and oversee accounting operations, GAAP compliance, and financial reporting for a major nonprofit. This role drives internal controls, policy development, and the financial reporting package for management and the board.

The position reports to the CFO and will lead month-end close, budgeting, audits, cash management, and staff development while ensuring liquidity and regulatory compliance across all entities.

Qualifications

• BS in accounting, finance or related field.
• CPA strongly preferred; public accounting background preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including payroll and accounts payable.
• Maintain internal controls and oversee audits.
• Manage month-end and year-end close and reconciliations.
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and board reports.
• Monitor budgeting and variances; provide variance analysis.
• Manage cash, banking relationships, and debt covenants.
• Lead and develop accounting and finance staff.
• Coordinate annual audits with independent auditors.
