Job summary

Bancroft seeks a Corporate Controller to lead the accounting function, ensure GAAP compliance, and safeguard the organization’s assets through strong internal controls and accurate financial reporting. Reporting to the CFO, this hands-on role manages month-end close, payroll, accounts payable, audits, and board packages, and partners with the executive team to guide financial decisions.

Required: BS in accounting/finance, 12–15 years of experience with at least 5 in management; CPA preferred;

Qualifications

• BS in accounting, finance or related field with strong GAAP knowledge.
• Minimum 12–15 years of relevant experience including 5+ years in supervision/management.
• Public accounting background and CPA strongly preferred; able to lead audits.
• Experience with accounting systems, internal controls and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, payroll, and accounts payable.
• Lead month-end/year-end closing and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and board reports.
• Manage budgets, variance analyses, and cash flow reporting.
• Coordinate annual audits with external auditors and regulatory filings.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
