Job summary

Canopy seeks a seasoned Controller to own all accounting, drive a modern AI-native ERP, and partner with the CFO to scale revenue recognition and collections. This leader will implement systems and workflows across finance, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance in a high-growth healthcare safety platform.

You will manage the accounting team, collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, CX, and Finance, and lead the annual audit while shaping the finance organization for rapid expansion.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting experience with 4+ years owning the close at a high-growth startup.
• Active CPA license and Big 4 experience.
• Hands-on builder mentality; able to automate and teach others.
• Collaborative mindset across functions and strong analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Define the roadmap and services for Canopy’s accounting team and ensure timely close.
• Own revenue recognition, including 606, hardware, services, and deferments.
• Lead AI integration and automation of reconciliations and workflows.
• Oversee annual audits, tax compliance, and insurance programs.
