Job summary

Canopy is seeking a Controller to own all aspects of accounting and help the CFO run revenue recognition, collections, and scale. The role will architect and manage AI workflows and the finance tech stack to support Canopy's healthcare workforce safety platform.

This high-impact, cross-functional leader will own monthly close, GAAP compliance, audits, and investor reporting while building a high-performing accounting team and driving real-time transparency across the organization.

Qualifications

• CPA license and Big 4 accounting experience.
• Experience owning the monthly close in a high-growth startup.
• SaaS and healthcare sector familiarity is a plus.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting skills.
• Experience implementing AI-enabled ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the full accounting function and close process.
• Lead revenue recognition, including 606 and related reporting.
• Drive automation of reconciliations and accounting workflows using AI.
• Oversee audit, tax compliance, and insurance programs.
• Manage and grow the accounting team, partnering with executives.
