Job summary

CFS in Denver, CO is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead the accounting function, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, and scale processes for growth. This hands-on leadership role oversees close, financial statements, audits, and internal controls while partnering with executives on business decisions.

You will recruit and develop a high-performing team, implement ERP improvements, and provide strategic financial insights to guide growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Eight+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience coordinating audits with external auditors.
• Advanced Excel and ERP/financial reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, close, and financial reporting.
• Deliver timely monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP-compliant statements.
• Establish a disciplined close calendar and clear ownership.
• Develop and strengthen accounting policies and controls.
• Lead annual audits and tax coordination and banking requests.
• Partner with FP&A and leaders on budgets and cash flow planning.
• Provide financial insights to inform leadership decisions.
• Recruit and develop a high-performing accounting team.
• Evaluate systems and drive ERP/process improvements.
• Oversee complex transactions and scale accounting for growth.
