Job summary

BNTO, a hybrid role reporting to our Manhattan office, seeks an experienced Controller to lead accounting, financial reporting, and financial operations as we scale. You will own the integrity of our financials, oversee the accounting function, and build scalable processes to support growth.

Responsibilities include monthly/quarterly close, revenue recognition, and inventory accounting, partnering with leadership on budgeting and forecasting, and coordinating with lenders, investors, and

Qualifications

• Active CPA license is required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience in consumer businesses with inventory accounting is required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting and revenue recognition.
• Public accounting or audit background preferred.
• Experience with apparel/fashion/retail/rental/e-commerce is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own all aspects of the accounting function, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Oversee revenue recognition, inventory accounting, and other key accounting areas.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash planning, and strategic initiatives.
• Support financing activities, lender reporting, investor reporting, and due diligence.
• Manage relationships with external accountants, tax advisors, auditors, and other financial partners.
• Build scalable systems and processes to support company growth.
• Leverage technology and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide practical accounting guidance on complex business matters.
