Job summary

ABC_Accounting and Consulting is seeking a seasoned Controller for a multi‑state healthcare enterprise based in Southfield, MI. This role leads accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and financial analysis across several entities, reporting to the CFO.

The successful candidate will combine hands‑on leadership with a strong technical foundation to drive scalable processes and robust reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles such as Controller.
Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, general ledger management, consolidations, and internal controls.
Experience leading the monthly close, multi-entity reporting, and intercompany accounting.
Healthcare industry experience is preferred, especially physician groups or MSOs.

Responsibilities

Own and manage general ledger and monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple entities and states.
Prepare consolidated and entity-level financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reporting.
Oversee journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, eliminations, and revenue recognition.
Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate external audits, tax support, lender reporting, and other external financial reporting.
Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team and drive continuous improvement.
