Job summary

ABC_Accounting and Consulting is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting operations and financial reporting for a complex, multi-state healthcare enterprise in Southfield, MI. You will supervise the accounting team, ensure accuracy and timeliness of consolidated statements, and collaborate with cross‑functional leaders to drive improvements.

The role requires a strong controllership background, hands‑on leadership, and deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
• 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience in leadership roles (Controller/Assistant Controller).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge including U.S. GAAP, GL management, consolidations, and internal controls.
• Experience independently managing monthly financial close and preparing accurate financial statements.
• Healthcare industry experience preferred, including physician groups, MSOs, or multi-site healthcare organizations.
• Experience with healthcare revenue recognition, patient accounts receivable, and revenue cycle accounting is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations, close & financial reporting across multiple entities and states.
• Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and eliminations; ensure accurate consolidated reporting.
• Maintain internal controls, compliance with policies, and coordination of external audits and tax support.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital, and treasury activities; oversee AR and revenue cycle interfaces with GL.
• Develop scalable accounting processes, leverage automation, and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team and ensure timely financial close.
