Job summary

Talent Edge Recruiting seeks a hands-on, strategic Controller to lead accounting and finance operations for a rapidly growing construction company. Reporting to ownership, you will guide growth as projects scale from mid-market to $20M-$40M+.

You will manage WIP reporting, job costing, cash flow forecasting, monthly statements, banking and bonding relationships, and build financial models using Foundation, Procore, and Advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Controller experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field with construction accounting focus.
• Experience supporting bonding, banking, and lending relationships.
• Advanced Excel; Foundation and Procore experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations and mentor accounting staff.
• Partner with ownership on financial strategy.
• Manage WIP reporting, job costing, and project profitability.
• Develop cash flow forecasts and long-range financial projections.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and monthly reporting.
• Oversee loan reporting, amortization schedules, payroll, and 401(k) administration.
• Manage banking and surety relationships.
• Create reporting tools, dashboards, and financial models.
• Identify risks early and drive process improvements.
• Leverage technology and AI to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Build financial systems capable of supporting larger, longer-duration projects.
• Utilize Foundation, Procore, Advanced Excel, MS Word, and internal forecasting tools to manage and analyze financial performance.
