Job summary

Special-Lite is seeking a Controller to lead day-to-day accounting and finance functions. You will prepare financial reports, ensure federal and state compliance, manage budgets, and strengthen internal controls.

This role collaborates with the CFO and acts as a finance business partner to senior management. The ideal candidate has a strong background in GAAP, manufacturing cost accounting, and tax reporting, with supervisory experience and the ability to communicate recommendations clearly

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 5 years of experience as a Financial Manager.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong GAAP and financial reporting skills.
• Previous experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience with sales tax reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining records for retirement accounts (i.e., 401-K Plan).
• Prepares supporting documents for the annual financial reports and annual tax return with outside CPA firm.
• Prepares documents supporting the monthly close process and month-end balances.
• Reviews monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results ensuring accurate accounting records are maintained.
• Supervises the maintenance of fixed asset records.
• Oversees the physical inventory process for various locations.
• Manages and develops direct reports.
• Assists in the preparation of the annual budget.
