Job summary

Confidential is seeking a Controller to lead day-to-day accounting, ensure U.S. GAAP compliance, and partner with executive leadership.

This hands-on role will build financial infrastructure to support growth in a complex, inventory-intensive distribution environment. Responsibilities include overseeing general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, cash flow, fixed assets, budgeting and forecasting, audits, and cost accounting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility.
  • Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge; CPA preferred but not required.
  • Extensive inventory accounting experience in a distribution/wholesale/manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all accounting and financial reporting activities in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and supporting accounting records.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash management, fixed assets, and broader accounting operations.
  • Lead inventory and cost accounting, including valuation, reserves, reconciliations, product costing, gross margin analysis, physical inventory, and cycle-count controls.
  • Prepare annual budgets, periodic forecasts, working-capital analyses, and budget-to-actual reporting.
  • Coordinate the annual financial statement audit and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
