Job summary

Veridian Homes is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations in Madison, WI. This key leadership role partners with the executive team to drive strategic planning, budgeting, and strong internal controls.

You will oversee monthly and annual financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, audits, and the development of a high-performing accounting team, leveraging technology and AI to improve processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
• CPA or CMA designation.
• 6-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, budgeting, and cost accounting.
• Leadership, analytical, and communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly and annual financial reporting processes.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and budgeting activities.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job costing.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Coordinate annual audits and tax preparation.
• Build and develop a high-performing accounting team.
• Partner with executive leadership on financial planning and strategic initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and leverage technology, including AI solutions.
