Job summary

LHH is seeking a Controller for a regional bank in Madison. This role will support the CFO, contribute to planning and strategy, and drive financial controls and reporting. The position offers a hybrid schedule and proximity to executive leadership.

The candidate will lead month-end close, manage journal entries, and oversee annual budgets, while ensuring compliance with both national and local standards. A strong background in banking or public accounting and detail-oriented analysis are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 6+ years of accounting experience.
• Financial Services/Banking OR Public Accounting experience REQUIRED.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist CFO with financial activities and annual budget preparation.
• Month-end close process including preparation and posting of journal entries.
• Reviews and audits third party vendors and maintains current information on contracts with the bank.
• Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis.
• Participates in formulating and administering company policies and developing long range goals and objectives.
• Annually audits the reconciliation of all internal accounts.
• Monitors portfolio for unusual transactions which may lead to purchasing or selling securities.
• Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards.
