Job summary

Mechanics Bank is seeking a Contracts Manager to join our team on-site in California. You will define and document contract requirements, draft and negotiate agreements, and oversee lifecycle management with business partners to optimize vendor costs and delivery while ensuring compliance with policies and legal requirements.

The role emphasizes strategic process improvements, strong communication, and the ability to handle complex contracts. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• 4 year Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 2 years minimum experience in Business, Finance, law, or related field preferred.
• Contract or IT Vendor Management experience required.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and Internet.
• Strong PDF editing and aggregation and Excel skills.
• Expert knowledge of contracts negotiation and execution.
• Ability to read, interpret and enforce contract language with executive management and legal counsel.

Responsibilities

• Ensures contract terms address primary business risk areas (indemnification, liability limitations, confidentiality) in the Bank's best interest.
• Synthesize perspectives to document decisions, risks, and concessions.
• Maintain status of vendor contracts and manage milestones, SLAs, renewal/termination notices.
• Provide guidance on development of Service Level Agreements and remedies.
• Negotiate terms of contracts within Bank policies and regulatory requirements.
• Compile and analyze vendor contract data for periodic reporting to teams and regulators.
• Provide interpretations of vendor contracts to business partners and management.
