Job summary

Dallas County seeks a procurement professional to handle purchasing and contract administration for construction, services, and supplies. You will prepare complex specifications and solicitation documents, coordinate with departments, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 2 years of purchasing experience, and CPPB (or ability to obtain within 5 years).

Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Two (2) years of professional work experience in purchasing, contracts administration and negotiation.
• Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) or ability to obtain within five years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Procuring or coordinating procurement of architectural/engineering services, construction, and related supplies.
• Prepare technical contracts and solicitation documents, including research and value analysis.
• Identify and notify potential sources and analyze market sources for cost-effective pricing.
• Engage in procurement planning with client departments and provide high-quality service.
• Conduct pre-bid/pre-proposal conferences and supervise evaluation committees.
• Negotiate terms with consultants/contractors and manage contracts, change orders, and amendments.
• Maintain procurement records and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
