Job summary

Austal USA in Mobile, AL is seeking a Contracts Manager to oversee all contract administration for assigned programs. You will supervise contract specialists, draft contracts and modifications, and coordinate with customers and major subcontractors on formal communications and submittals.

You will lead negotiations for new contracts and subcontract modifications, maintain contract files, and assist in resolving accounting, payment, and compliance issues.

Qualifications

• College Degree in related field required.
• A minimum of 10+ years related experience required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, negotiating skills and the ability to manage and prioritize tasks using available resources effectively and efficiently.
• Proficient with standard Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and other commonly used business software (e.g. Adobe Acrobat).
• Must be able to participate in and, in many cases, lead a team to meet all commitments within a required deadline.

Responsibilities

• Draft contracts, modifications, agreements, memorandums of understanding, terms and conditions, and other contract-related documents.
• Lead negotiations for new contracts and contract modifications with the Customer and major subcontractors.
• Supervise contract specialists and coordinate with departments on contract issues.
• Maintain contract files and current contract values for validation and coordination with Finance and Program Office.
• Assist in management of accounting issues impacting contract performance and payment; support change management and new business pursuits.
