Job summary

Austal USA is a ship manufacturer with facilities in Mobile, Alabama, San Diego, Singapore, and Charlottesville. The Contracts Manager will oversee all contract administration for assigned programs, draft and negotiate contracts, and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure compliance and on-time delivery.

The role requires extensive federal contracting experience, leadership, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.
• 10+ years of contracts experience.
• 5+ years of federal contract management experience preferred.
• Experience drafting and negotiating contracts and modifications.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and agency supplements.
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork.
• Ability to lead a contract team and coordinate with departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day contract administration for assigned programs.
• Lead negotiations for new contracts and modifications with Customer.
• Draft contracts, modifications, MOUs, terms and conditions.
• Maintain contract files and funding values; monthly reporting to Finance.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain Management on disputes and subcontracts.
• Mentor and supervise contract staff.
• Assist in bid and change proposal development.
