Job summary

HistoryMaker Homes is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead day-to-day purchasing activities and implement strategic procurement processes. You will manage relationships with Trade Partners, participate in negotiations, and ensure accurate bid information flows to trades, sales, and construction.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Business/Supply Chain/Construction Management and at least 3 years in construction purchasing, with strong Excel/Newstar ERP skills and the ability to read

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Construction Management preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience in the construction industry preferred.
• Self-directed, take initiative, address problems proactively with minimal oversight.
• Analytical in providing and interpreting information to determine root causes and decisions.
• Highly organized and follows processes while remaining flexible when needed.
• Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
• Advanced skills in Excel and Newstar or equivalent purchasing ERP systems; proficient with MS Office.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate new, potential contractors/vendors.
• Negotiate pricing and rebate agreements with major vendors/contractors.
• Manage contract price changes and periodically adjust labor rates.
• Analyze Trade Partner performance, capacity, quality, and workload against the business plan.
• Advise construction on Trade Partner and product issues; provide cost-saving guidance.
• Facilitate setup of new subdivisions by setting rates and Trade Partner selections.
• Distribute notifications on policy and material changes; ensure Scopes of Work accuracy.
