Job summary

Trautman & Shreve, Inc. is seeking a Logistics Manager to oversee planning, movement, and availability of materials and resources for mechanical construction. You will ensure site readiness, align with project schedules, and manage costs while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires 5+ years in logistics or construction operations, a relevant degree, and strong organizational skills. Proficiency with MS Office and inventory systems is expected; a driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or construction operations.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and logistics/inventory systems (Stratus & One-Key experience is a plus but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the delivery of materials, tools, and equipment to project sites.
  • Develop and manage logistics strategies aligned with project schedules and operational needs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate distribution of materials across multiple job sites.
  • Monitor and optimize supply chain workflows to reduce delays and inefficiencies.
  • Oversee inventory control systems, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Manage warehouse operations, including material staging, storage, and organization.
  • Lead shipping and receiving processes, including inspection and verification.
  • Ensure proper material handling practices and compliance with safety standards.
  • Oversee tool crib operations, including issuance, tracking, maintenance, and accountability.
  • Manage equipment logistics, including scheduling, usage tracking, maintenance, and returns.
  • Coordinate equipment rentals and ensure cost-effective utilization.
  • Monitor and report on tool and equipment condition, damage, and loss.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors and suppliers.
  • Coordinate material orders, deliveries, discrepancies, and returns.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners.
  • Collaborate internally with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Operations Leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
  • Promote safe handling, transportation, and storage of materials and equipment.
  • Support fleet safety and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to logistics operations.
  • Track KPIs such as delivery timelines, inventory accuracy, and cost efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Implement best practices to enhance operational effectiveness.
