Job summary

Martin Commercial Properties is seeking an experienced Controller to strengthen financial operations and act as a strategic partner to ownership, leadership, and the construction operations team.

The role oversees accounting, month-end close, cash flow, budgeting, and project-level financial performance, partnering with Project Managers and operations to drive profitability and risk management. CPA preferred and leadership experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Experience with construction accounting software and Procore is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Oversee WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting, job costing, and project profitability.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, cash flow, commitments, and cost-to-complete.
• Partner with Project Managers and Operations to identify financial risks and improve project performance.
• Oversee AP, AR, billing, collections, and cash management.
• Manage and develop the Assistant Controller.
• Coordinate audits, tax matters, banking, bonding, and external accounting relationships.
• Provide ownership and executive leadership with accurate financial analysis and recommendations.
