Job summary

Jackson Contractor Group, Inc. seeks a Controller to lead the accounting team and ensure accurate financial reporting across projects. You will oversee job costing, WIP, cash flow, internal controls, and provide timely analysis to project teams and executive leadership.

This role requires 5+ years in accounting and a four-year degree in Finance or Accounting; construction accounting experience is a plus. You will partner with leaders to drive process improvements and financial integrity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an accounting position.
• Four-year degree from an accredited university in Finance, Accounting, or a similar field.
• Preferred experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
• Experience in construction accounting or project management software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily functions of the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, job costing, payroll, and equipment accounting.
• Ensure accurate monthly and annual financial reporting aligned with internal and external requirements.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and results are accurate and communicated to leadership.
• Oversee WIP schedules and job costing, validate budgets, costs incurred, and margins with project management.
• Perform ad-hoc research and analysis on complex accounting issues with the CFO.
• Maintain controls to protect the company against fraud and other risks.
• Collaborate with CFO and leadership to optimize systems and manage costs.
• Manage cash flow by monitoring collections and disbursements and improving processes with project teams.
