Job summary

C&S Companies is hiring a Project Controller to manage project accounting for our growing construction business. You will oversee accounts receivable, invoicing, and the monthly WIP schedule, while collaborating with construction leaders to ensure accurate job costing and gross profit reporting.

The role reports to the Director of Accounting & Finance and requires 5–8 years of construction accounting experience, strong leadership, and GAAP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business management.
• 5–8 years of relevant construction accounting experience.
• Experience with WIP reports and percentage of completion.
• Knowledge of construction ERP systems; Sage Intacct a plus.
• Ability to manage staff and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts receivable, invoicing, and monthly WIP report.
• Collaborate with construction teams on job costing and GP.
• Oversee regulatory reporting, tax, and compliance.
• Coordinate month-end cut-off with corporate accounting.
• Prepare consolidated financial data with external auditors.
• Evaluate accounting operations and implement improvements.
• Assess accounting software and data systems.
• Provide management with key performance metrics.
• Lead and retain accounting staff.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and safe work practices.
• Communicate safety incidents per policy.
