Job summary

American Equity Investment Life Insurance Company is seeking a Competitive Intelligence Specialist to support Distribution leadership and Sales with in-depth product positioning and partner analysis for the Bank/Broker Dealer channel.

You will monitor competitor products, pricing, and marketing activity, maintain a library of competitive positioning, and support cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field with 2+ years of related experience
• Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and database systems

Responsibilities

• Analyzes competitor products and features; tracks rate updates and new offerings
• Monitors top 20 partners and prospects across channels
• Maintains knowledge of FIA indices vs competitor indices and reports to account managers
• Builds a library of competitor positioning using materials, sites and news
• Answers competitive and case design questions for book-of-business reviews
• Keeps info on top carrier competitors’ staffing models and tools
• Supports pre-launch analysis and related marketing materials
• Helps train employees on products and competition
• Identifies emerging market opportunities and threats
• Performs other related work as assigned
