Job summary

FirstService Residential in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Community Manager to lead the homeowners association, oversee operations and ensure legal compliance. You will manage staff, coordinate with the Board of Directors, and drive budgeting and community programs.

The role requires significant experience in community management, strong leadership, and knowledge of condominium law and financial planning. A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance are required; CPM/PCAM/ARM/AMS designation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field; 3 years’ experience in Property Operations, Hospitality or Construction or equivalent
• Minimum of seven years of successful community management experience, with 4+ years managing staff
• Experience managing multiple departments and staff in a small/medium organization
• Knowledge of building management, condominium law, financial planning and related regulations
• Valid Driver's License and state-mandated vehicle insurance
• Commitment to obtain CPM, PCAM, ARM or AMS designations or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to develop short-term and long-range plans; set annual goals
• Review organization structure and roles; advise Board on changes
• Partner with public, private and volunteer organizations to provide community services
• Support Board sub-committees and ensure governance alignment
• Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure compliance with governing documents
• Monitor monthly financials and assist in budgeting processes
• Lead meetings with Board of Directors; provide reports and actions
• Recruit, hire and supervise all community staff
• Maintain emergency and evacuation plans in coordination with local agencies
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and programs
• Stay updated on trends in community management and programming
