Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a closely related field.
• Minimum five years of paid work experience in media relations, journalism, or public relations.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages all Parish communications related to public relations and media relations.
• Drafts and disseminates official press releases and statements for media inquiries and events.
• Responds to media inquiries on behalf of Jefferson Parish with approval from the PIO.
• Represents the department director at Parish functions and meetings when requested.
