Job summary

ROGERCO, Inc. is seeking a Senior Communications Specialist to conceptualize and develop compelling material supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center Code 103. You will write and edit magazine articles, press releases and fact sheets for internal and external audiences, ensuring AP style and accuracy.

The role requires editing guidance across subordinate organizations, strong editorial and fact-checking skills, and active SECRET clearance. Local travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 6+ years in editing in military/engineering/technical environments.
• U.S. Citizen with Active Secret Clearance.
• Proven ability to support communication programs, media relations, and photography.
• Proficient with NERDS, Adobe CC, MS Office, AVS Video Converter, and screen capture software.
• Knowledge of Section 508 and AP Style.
• Exceptional writing and copy editing skills.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead and collaborate to create original concepts for internal and external communication
• Write clear, concise copy aligned with brand voice and style
• Provide editorial expertise for catalogs, newsletters, and magazines
• Provide photography support for articles and social media
• Develop posts and measure post impact via data-driven evaluation
• Manage information requests and travel as needed
• Quality assurance for press releases and brochures
• Verify background information from relevant sources
• Develop outlines/drafts meeting client requirements
• Edit copy to AP style
• Perform other duties as required
• Local travel may be required
