Job summary

NorthSouth Consulting Group is seeking a Communication Specialist - Mid Level to develop and execute comprehensive public affairs campaigns for MCSC and affiliated PEOs. The role emphasizes strong writing, stakeholder engagement, and creative storytelling across media channels.

The candidate will manage strategic planning, content creation, media relations, and social media, with monthly travel to USMC facilities across the United States. US citizenship and clearance readiness are required.

Qualifications

• US Citizen with an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in government/public affairs, communications, or journalism.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.
• Experience with graphic design and multimedia production is a plus.
• Strong understanding of media relations and public relations best practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Strategic communication planning to support objectives and enhance public perception.
• Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets and influencers.
• Create high‑quality written content including press releases, speeches, and social posts.
• Manage and update website content in line with brand guidelines.
• Produce engaging multimedia content such as videos and infographics.
• Plan and execute public affairs events and media tours.
• Coordinate media interviews and respond to inquiries.
• Monitor media coverage and analyze trends.
