Job summary

North-South-Consulting-Group is seeking a Communication Specialist - Mid Level to develop and execute public affairs campaigns for MCSC, affiliated PEOs, and the Marine Corps. The role requires strong writing, storytelling, and content development skills with a focus on stakeholder engagement.

The position involves travel to USMC facilities across the United States and demands a proactive, results-oriented professional with a passion for public service.

Qualifications

• US Citizen with an active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional government/public affairs, communications, or journalism experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.
• Experience with graphic design and multimedia production is a plus.
• Strong understanding of media relations and public relations best practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic public affairs campaigns to support organizational objectives.
• Conduct audience research to identify key stakeholders and communication needs.
• Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and influencers.
• Create high-quality press content (press releases, speeches, articles, social posts).
• Manage website content and ensure brand-guided consistency across materials.
• Plan and execute public affairs events and media tours.
• Monitor media coverage and analyze trends to guide strategy.
• Develop and implement social media strategies to boost brand awareness.
• Ensure consistent messaging across channels and branding guidelines.
• Stay current with industry best practices and continuously improve strategies.
