Job summary

LMI seeks a Strategic Communications Specialist to support a DoD program at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA, onsite five days a week. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and close collaboration with senior staff to craft messaging and communication products.

You will develop and execute communications strategies, author content, and coordinate with Public Affairs and other DoD components to inform stakeholders and advance program priorities. Proficiency in MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience supporting executive level DoD leadership with experience writing, editing, preparing briefs, and creating talking points.
• Expertise in communications principles, methods, practices, and techniques to inform and persuade audiences at all levels.
• Experience delivering strategic communications via print and digital.
• Adaptability to changing DoD environments and outreach tasks.
• Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute communication strategies to support client mission and priorities.
• Manage internal and external communications channels, products, partnerships.
• Develop and produce reports, articles, presentations, talking points, web content, and press releases.
• Coordinate with Public Affairs, Legislative Affairs, and other DoD components.
• Plan and manage projects and events.
