Job summary

Verizon in New Jersey is seeking an experienced internal and external communications lead to shape the company’s narrative for employees, media and customers. You will develop and execute communications strategies, support executive messaging, and position leaders in thought leadership forums.

In this hybrid role, you will collaborate with stakeholders across a matrixed organization, manage multiple projects to deadlines, and measure results to improve strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Eight or more years of relevant experience required.
• Communications experience.
• Powerhouse writing skills, including the ability to quickly turn around messaging across formats - long form, social, email, video, etc.
• Experience influencing partners.
• Experience navigating complex and matrixed organizations with numerous stakeholders.
• Experience driving internal and external strategies and execution.

Responsibilities

• Develop integrated communications strategies and supporting narratives across key initiatives.
• Create and deliver engaging content across channels (executive communications, social, Slack, video, articles, op-eds, events).
• Provide strategic messaging guidance and execute tactics.
• Monitor external landscape and trends to stay on the cutting edge.
• Track results and iterate on strategies accordingly.
• Manage projects with timelines, content review, and design guidance to ensure timely delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders.
