Job summary

Verizon Communications is seeking a seasoned communications leader to tell the company story and shape its reputation for employees, media and customers. You will develop and execute internal and external communications strategies to drive the company and leadership narrative.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Eight or more years of relevant experience demonstrated through work/military/specialized training.
• Powerhouse writing skills across formats (long form, social, email, video).
• Experience influencing partners.
• Experience navigating complex, matrixed organizations with many stakeholders.
• Experience driving internal and external strategies and execution.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute executive internal and external communications strategies to drive Verizon's reputation and brand.
• Develop internal, PR and social media strategies; support executive communications; position leaders in thought leadership forums.
• Develop integrated communications strategies and supporting narratives across key initiatives.
• Create and deliver content across channels (executive communications, social media, Slack, videos, articles, op-eds, events).
• Provide strategic messaging guidance and hands-on execution of communications tactics.
• Monitor external trends and best practices to stay at the edge of communications.
• Track results and iterate on strategies accordingly.
• Manage projects with timelines, content reviews, design input, and timely deliverables.
• Build and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders including business leaders and partners.
