Job summary

University of Maryland’s Institute for Systems Research seeks an experienced Program Manager, Communications & External Relations, to define strategic communications objectives and curate ISR’s print and digital content. You will lead digital outreach, produce high-quality copy for publications, and work with faculty to amplify ISR’s work.

You’ll collaborate with the Clark School and campus partners, manage ISR’s event promotion efforts, and provide senior communications support to the ISR

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three years of professional communications or marketing experience.
• Knowledge of communications and marketing strategies.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills; AP style familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Define the Institute’s strategic communications objectives and serve as the primary architect and curator of ISR’s print and digital content.
• Administer ISR’s digital outreach (website, social media, newsletters) and produce high-quality copy for University and media publications.
• Engage with ISR faculty to amplify the Institute’s work and collaborate with Clark School and campus partners to raise ISR’s profile.
• Provide the ISR Director with high-level communications support and oversee promotional aspects of ISR’s events from inception to post-event follow-up.
• Broaden ISR’s audience and develop new relationships with government, industry, and academia.
