University of Maryland Faculty Physicians seeks an Academic Communications Specialist to support faculty manuscript preparation, publication editing, and strategic communications. The role includes managing digital content and tracking scholarly metrics to advance faculty recognition and career development.

You will collaborate with faculty, staff, and leadership to ensure accurate, timely communications aligned with institutional goals and to promote scholarly accomplishments across channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism, or related field from an accredited college or university; Master's degree preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in writing/editing medical, academic, scientific, or other technical material.
• Certification by the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences (BELS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a central resource for faculty manuscript preparation and publication support.
• Provide executive communications for departmental leadership.
• Manage website and digital content development and publication processes.
