Job summary

The University of Kansas seeks a strategic communications leader for the School of Architecture and Design. This role directs communications, branding, and public engagement, supervising a Graphic Designer and student staff.

You will translate complex achievements into compelling narratives to boost enrollment, engagement, fundraising, and reputation. You will work closely with the Dean, department chairs, and KU Marketing to coordinate materials, events, and digital storytelling while

Qualifications

Editing and writing experience for communications materials and websites.
Experience maintaining and updating organizational websites and content.
At least one year of supervisory experience.
Experience working with diverse populations in communications environments.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan to advance the School’s brand and awareness.
Engage department chairs to align priorities and communications needs.
Provide editorial direction and brand management for the School.
Oversee marketing and communications materials and establish a review process for visuals.
Promote faculty research and expertise to multiple audiences.
Manage editorial and project processes across web, social media, email, print, media relations, and events.
Coordinate photography and documentation of student and faculty activities.
Maintain the School website with timely updates and annual refreshes.
